Maabjerg Energy Center is a hands-on example for schools, students and Danish and international researchers.
A visit often begins with a short presentation of the facility, followed by a guided tour at MEC Biogas. In this way visitors gain a good understanding of the new and various forms of energy involved in Maabjerg BioEnergy. They also learn about the processes and results of the plant.
The Biogas facility was completed at the beginning of 2012 and houses a large auditorium and modern audio-visual equipment.
We frequently arrange tours of the plant, which are free and open to the public.
For school visits we recommend that pupils should have started studying physics and chemistry – this means pupils in grade 7 upwards. Otherwise, the visit would not benefit them sufficiently.
We always give plenty of opportunities for asking questions before, during and after the tour.
Group tours and students
We offer tours for groups of between 15 and 30 persons. For safety reasons, group size cannot exceed 30 (meaning that very large groups are usually divided into units of max. 30 persons).
