MEC BioHeat&Power has a maximum output of 28 megawatt (MW). It produces both district heating and electricity for the grid. It is possible to adjust the proportions of heat and electricity so that more heating can be produced when the electricity market price is low. Annually the breakdown is 60 percent district heating and 27 percent electricity. Energy loss is approximately 12 percent.
